An armed group believed to be associated with the Cartel of the Northeast gang in Mexico stormed Villa Union, a town of 3,000 people near the Texas border, staging an hour-long attack for unclear reasons. In the resulting gunfight between presumed cartel members and Mexican security forces, at least 21 died. Officials say seven of the attackers were killed on Saturday and an additional seven were located and killed on Sunday.
