Astros righthander José Urquidy, on the injured list with right shoulder discomfort, said he is still shut down but hopes to resume throwing and traveling with the team next week.
Righthander Luis Garcia underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on Friday, the team announced. Garcia is out for the remainder of the season and is expected to return sometime during the 2024 season.Jose AltuveMauricio Dubón fielded ground balls at first base on Friday, but Astros manager Dusty Baker would not elaborate on his plans for Dubón’s playing time.
