Astros third baseman Alex Bregman on Friday was named the American League Player of the Month for August.
Alex Bregman's stellar August was rewarded with the third AL Player of the Month award of his career.
During 27 August games, Bregman batted .352 with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs, an AL-best OPS of 1.133 and .452 on-base percentage. For the season, Bregman is hitting .267 with 20 homers, 77 RBIs and 72 walks with an .849 OPS.Bregman is the second Astros player to earn Player of the Month honors this season. Yordan Alvarez was the June winner.
In his career, Bregman has three Player of the Month awards, with the others coming in June 2018 and September 2019. Jeff Bagwell, with five, has the most in Astros history.
