Although reliever Bryan Abreu surrendered an unearned run in the eighth inning, the Astros avoided a series sweep and salvaged a 4-3 win in Sunday’s finale at Minute Maid Park.Astros starter José Urquidy secured 16 outs and allowed two earned runs, both on solo homers, before he exited the game with an injury in the sixth inning.
Prior to his injury, Urquidy became the only Astros pitcher to pitch with a lead in the three-game series against the Phillies. The first three Houston batters of the game reached via a single and a pair of walks to load the bases for José Abreu. The struggling first baseman grounded into a double play, but Jeremy Peña was able to score to give the Astros a 1-0 lead.
