As the UK removes all 11 countries from the red list, here's what you need to know if you're travelling this Christmas.
Those who are currently quarantining after arriving from one of the countries previously on the red list will be allowed to leave early and “follow the rules as if they had arrived from a non-red list country” – provided they haven't tested positive for coronavirus.
In October earlier this year, the traffic light system governing which countries English residents can and can't travel to was scrapped, with the amber and green lists merging into a single category dubbed ‘rest of the world’. If you want to book a holiday abroad, the UK government has announced the following steps that you must follow:You can check the travel advice for each countryyou will need to show proof of vaccination status or proof of a negative COVID-19 testArrange any Covid-19 tests you will need to enter the countries you want to travel toCheck that you can use the NHS COVID Pass to prove your vaccination status...
You should register with the NHS App before booking international travel and make sure that your first name and your surname on your passport match how they are displayed by your NHS COVID Pass at least 2 weeks before you travel. If they don't match, you can contact your GP practice to have your details updated. This will depend on your vaccination status and which country you intend to travel to.
