Nothing can stop this artist with Down syndrome and his direct support professional when they partner up to paint portraits of pups!
Jake Spencer is painting a picture of how adults with disabilities can contribute to their community in meaningful ways."I was working for a company that takes adults with disabilities out into the community," said Lee, who was partnered with Spencer about six years ago. "And we started by painting a portrait of Jake's dog."And from there, the two learned in unison how to paint portraits of pups in their neighborhood.
"Painting is so calming and it's relaxing and I love it," said Spencer. "Me and Caron have been collaborating together as a team. I think she's one of the best artists, painter, and I love her as a person she is right now."
