Arlo Parks (arloparks) has won the 2021 MercuryPrize (MercuryPrize):
At 21, Parks is one of the youngest Mercury Prize winners to date, following in the footsteps of previous early-20s winners like Ms. Dynamite , Arctic Monkeys , Dave and Dizzee Rascal, who remains the youngest-ever winner: The rapper was just 19 when his debut album“It took a lot of sacrifice and hard work to get here, and there were moments where I wasn’t sure whether I would make it through. But I’m here today. So thank you very much,” Parks said in her acceptance speech.
