Katie Hobbs signed into law HB 216, which describes a child sex doll as an anatomically correct doll, mannequin or robot that has the features or resembles an infant or child under 12 years and is intended to be used for sexual stimulation or gratification. It also makes owning a child sex doll that resembles a real kid sexual exploitation of a minor. That charge carries the added penalty of requiring anyone convicted to register as a sex offender. At a March Senate Judiciary Committee meeting, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Detective Randall Snyder told the committee that there had been an increase in these types of dolls during the pandemic nationally and specifically in Pinal County.“These dolls can look like my kids, your kids, your grandkids, based upon pictures posted on social media so that some pervert can go out there and engage in simulated sexual behaviors with a doll that looks like our kids,” he said.
