Texas installed 1,000 feet of buoys in the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass this summer.
In a border security hearing Tuesday, Col. Steven McCraw, the director of Texas DPS, was questioned about the floating barriers. When he was initially asked about the barriers, McCraw said he couldn't comment because of the ongoing lawsuit.It was a proof of concept, is really what we did," McCraw said in a response to Sen. The International Boundary and Water Commission recently updated that survey and found that all of the buoys are now on the American side of the river.
