Arden Cho has no regrets about passing on TeenWolfTheMovie 👀 'Don’t be scared to walk away or turn down an opportunity if you know it’s not fair and it won’t make you happy! You deserve better ❤️ [...] Love you all, no regrets!'
Arden Cho, who played Kira Yukimura in Teen Wolf, has no regrets over passing on Teen Wolf: The Movie. After being off the air for almost half a decade, MTV's Teen Wolf returned to the small screen in January 2023. However, rather than come back for what would have been season 7, Teen Wolf. The Movie served as a reunion for the MTV drama. The story picks up nearly two decades after the end of Teen Wolf season 6 as Scott McCall and his allies are brought together once again.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY One of the big characters who were not present in Teen Wolf: The Movie was Kira Yukimura, one of the main characters from season 3 until season 5. Played by Arden Cho, the actor declined the opportunity to reprise the role due to pay disparity with her co-stars. Since Teen Wolf: The Movie's release, fans have been tweeting Cho in support, expressing how much they miss the character. She responded to one of the fans on Twitter with how much she appreciates the support, but also that she has no regrets over passing on the offer. The actor stresses that people should not "be scared to walk away or turn down an opportunity if you know it’s not fair and it won’t make you happy.
In Teen Wolf: The Movie, a new character by the name of Hikari Zhang is introduced, played by Amy Workman. While it's obviously no fault of the actor, the Hikari character is essentially a Kira fill-in. The plot reveals that, like Kira, Hikari is also a kitsune who comes to have a crucial role toward the end of Teen Wolf: The Movie. It became evident the writers essentially had to create a whole new character because Cho passed on the unfair offer.
Will There Be Teen Wolf Sequels? Following Teen Wolf: The Movie's debut on Paramount+, the question remains whether this was truly the end of the franchise. At the time of this story's publishing, Teen Wolf: The Movie is already blowing up on the streaming service, but there have not been any official announcements about Teen Wolf sequels for the time being.
