Archie Battersbee's mum given date and time for his life support to be turned off
The mum of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee, the little boy who has been living on life support, has started a new fight - to say goodbye to her son in a hospice instead of a hospital.
Following the decision by the European Court of Human Rights not to intervene in the decision to withdraw life-support treatment from 12-year-old Archie Battersbee, his mother Hollie Dance said “It’s the end, it was the last thing, wasn’t it, and again our country have failed a 12-year-old child.” She added: “Now I would like him out of this hospital. He came to this hospital to have an operation, this hospital failed him.
Barts Health NHS Trust has said Archie’s life support will be withdrawn at 11am on Thursday unless an application regarding the hospice move is submitted by 9am, the boy’s family confirmed to the PA news agency.
