The streaming service Apple TV+ cancels another freshman series, this time a crime drama, just seven weeks after its season 1 finale airs.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT City on Fire has been canceled by Apple TV+ just seven weeks after its finale aired. The series, which is adapted from the 2015 novel of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg, stars Wyatt Oleff, Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, and John Cameron Mitchell.

What TV Shows Are Working for Apple TV+? City on Fire is the latest freshman series to be canceled by Apple TV+. However, it was given more consideration than Patricia Arquette's High Desert, which was canceled in July, just 10 days after its season 1 finale.

It seems that Apple TV+ isn't interested in letting their series breathe and giving them time to potentially find an audience. However, not every series on the streaming service is canceled so swiftly. In fact, quite a few of their flagship series reflect a level of confidence on the streamer's behalf that these freshman series have not garnered.

Shows that have made it to the three-season mark or beyond include Ted Lasso, Servant, For All Mankind, and Mythic Quest. The Morning Show season 3 is also coming soon to the platform.
