Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has accused her predecessor Mark Brnovich of"an appearance of impropriety" in how Brnovich handled $4 million in settlement money last year.
Under terms of the settlement, Google would pay the state of Arizona $85 million, with a few strings attached to how the money could be spent.
Brnovich served on an attorneys general advisory board to George Mason's Law & Economics Center when he did the grant solicitation, Mayes said in her letter. The letter says the evaluation committee recommended the center receive $3 million.
