Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made an appearance at Bronx Pride 2019 over the weekend. At the June 23 event, the congresswoman known as AOC gave a speech touting her policy gains for the LGBTQ community with a little extra oomph in the form of air horn blasts.with a couple of laughing-crying emojis. “They really cued up the horns for our policy points. There’s no place like home!” Her tweet included a video that showed the audio spectacle in action.
“Pride is about honoring the community workers, the people who work in the clinics, the community organizers, the people who work with LGBTQ youth, the people who are fighting to make sure that it’s not just about marriage equality, but quality of life for all people in the community,” AOC said before requesting that the air horns be queued up.
