New set images reveal Paul Rudd's return as Scott Lang to the MCU in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Director Peyton Reed wraps up his Marvel Studios sub-franchise with the upcoming threequel set to release in 2023. With that, production is in full swing, and some photos made their way online giving fans their first look at Rudd's titular character.
Ant-Man played an important role in the defeat of Thanos in Avengers: Endgame despite sitting out Avengers: Infinity War due to his involvement in Captain America: Civil War. After getting trapped in the Quantum Realm for five years in real-time, he reached out to the surviving Avengers and suggested the idea of the time heist. The idea sounded ridiculous at first, and it took some convincing for all the heroes to join, but they eventually did.
No marketing materials have yet to be released for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Since Marvel Studios has a string of other projects scheduled to come out this year, chances are that there won't be any clear push to promote the film in the next several months. That being said, what goes down in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which deals with the multiverse, could ultimately have a ripple effect on what Lang and Van Dyne deal with in their upcoming movie.
