'I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the hospital is delivered on time'. dean4watford hails the 'full funding commitment' to redevelop Watford General Hospital in his latest monthly column
After years of tireless campaigning, it was a pleasure to confirm that a full funding commitment to transform our hospital had been made, marking the beginning of an exciting new era for Watford.
Since my election, I have fought tirelessly for the resources and support that our hospital so desperately needed. During the pandemic, I had the privilege of volunteering at Watford General Hospital. Witnessing the dedication and resilience of the staff was a humbling experience for me. I then embarked on a series of visits with government ministers, highlighting the pressing need for increased funding for Watford General. Through these discussions, I was able to ensure that Watford General was at the fore of the Government’s New Hospital Programme.
With enhanced facilities, advanced technologies, and increased capacity, this funding will enable us to build a state-of-the-art hospital that meets the needs of our community. The Trust’s other sites in Hemel and St Albans will also see significant improvement and giving each of the three sites a more clearly defined role.
I am immensely proud of the progress that has been made, and I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has supported our campaign. I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the hospital is delivered on time, and that our community receives the world class healthcare it deserves.
