The 53-year-old victim was wounded in the leg at Sunnyside Yards, in the borough of Queens, near 39th Street and Skillman Avenue at 9:19 a.m., according to the NYPD. Officers chased the 48-year-old gunman to the parking lot of a Rite Aid drug store, less than a mile away on Roosevelt Avenue at 51st Street, police said, where they found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
