Despite being home to the Alamo and the state’s most-sought vacation destination, San Antonio is not at the top of Americans’ minds when they think of the state, it seems. In response to the question, “Which city do you think of most when you think about Texas?” only 13 percent chose San Antonio. That compared with 27 percent who said they think of Dallas, 24 percent who think of Houston and 17 percent of Austin.
The survey also suggests that Americans have a higher opinion of the state than they did in past years. “Texas is viewed favorably by 59 percent of America, and the state is seen as heading in the right direction, our latest national survey reveals,” Crosswind CEO Thomas Graham said in a statement.they had a positive view of Texas, was conducted in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and “a flurry of contentious and negative headlines that impacted Americans’ view of the brand of Texas,” he said.
