Two of the country's largest movie theater chains have shut its doors to combat the pandemic spread
The movie industry faces another blow as theaters across the country are shutting down during the coronavirus pandemic.
Both Regal Cinemas and AMC Theaters announced the shutting down of its chain of theaters after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended new guidelines that limit social gatherings to less than 10 people.“We are ever so disappointed for our moviegoing guests and for our employee teams that the new CDC guidelines that Americans should not gather in groups larger than 10 people make it impossible to open our theaters,” CEO Adam Aron said in a statement,.
