Nottingham City Council has decided to build new gates
The closure of an alleyway in Nottingham will be extended due to people committing sexual acts and dealing drugs. Part of the pathway between Brushfield Street and Hovenden Gardens in Hyson Green has been shut because of anti-social behaviour since 2012.
"There has been a resurgence of anti-social behaviour in the area with visitors no longer gathering under the flat where we have already gated off the alleyway, but instead they have begun to gather in the small alleyway that runs from Brushfield Street up through Hovenden Gardens," reads the report from a council enforcement officer.
Following this, it remained in place using a Public Spaces Protection Order , a three-year order that has been renewed twice by the city council. Council workers said the extension of the PSPO, which would cost £7,400, would "remedy" the problem.
