In Glasgow, eight organisations have been chosen.
The Queen’s Green Canopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark the Platinum Jubilee, will celebrate the start of tree planting season by gifting over 300 trees to a UK-wide network of organisations as part of a living legacy to honour the Queen.
Growchapel Community Allotment Gardens and Friends of Maryhill Park have been selected in the North of Glasgow. Victoria Park Community Trust in the West End, Friends of Alexandra Park in the East End, and Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary will also receive trees. The tree gifting ceremony is the first of many that will take place across the United Kingdom as the 350 trees which made up the “Tree of Trees” are presented to a diverse group of organisations by His Majesty The King’s Lord Lieutenants.
