Legendary musician Alice Cooper is best known for his shock rock anthems, but he also had a memorable role in the 1990s comedy Wayne's World.
Though Alice Cooper is best remembered for his shock rock anthems, the legendary musician also had a memorable role in Wayne's World. The 1992 comedy classic was a spinoff of the Saturday Night Live sketch of the same name, and it featured the duo of Mike Myers and Dana Carvey in the lead roles. The film's cast was stuffed with big stars, and featured a wealth of cameos from celebrities in all forms of media.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Like many rock stars, Cooper's stage persona was the exact opposite of his real-life personality , and that duality allowed him to make appearances in various movies and shows. Though Cooper's Nightmare on Elm Street 6 cameo failed, it was largely due to outside problems and not Cooper's ability as an actor. His appearance in Wayne's World allowed him to step out of the box and show just how funny he could be after decades of frightening audiences.
Cooper's professionalism shined through when he appeared in Wayne's World, and he proved he could actually act unlike many of his rocker contemporaries who relied on star power alone. If any other famous musician had scored the role, it wouldn't have had the same comedic punch because of Alice Cooper's unique focus on horror in his stage act.
Cooper Shot His Scene In Two Takes Besides being one of the funniest movies starring SNL cast members, Wayne's World also grew into a full-fledged cultural phenomenon that exemplified the tone of 1990s comedies. When speaking with NME, Alice Cooper recalled his experience on the set of the Penelope Spheeris-directed film and mentioned that he shot his scene in only two takes.
