There have been murmurs Lowry's attitude lets him down but he firmly believes it's just people misjudging his laid-back demeanour.
Alex Lowry admits it's not the first time in his career someone has called him arrogant - but says an insider at Rangers has been helping him win over the cynics.
Lowry joined Hearts on loan back in September as he looks to get things back on track after falling down the pecking order at Ibrox. He initially exploded onto the scene under Gio van Bronckhorst but a serious injury put him on the sidelines and he's struggled to work his way back into the first-team picture.
Alongside his injury-enforced absence there have been murmurs that his attitude hasn't helped matters but he insists anyone thinking he's 'arrogant' is simply getting the wrong impression from his laid-back demeanour. And Lowry - who scored his first goal for Hearts against Kilmarnock before breaking off for Scotland U21 duties - says he's been taking steps to battle the assumptions people make about him.
He said: "I'm pretty laid back, pretty relaxed. Sometimes that gives off the wrong impression, but that's just me as a player and as a person. I could talk to anyone, I could talk to a brick wall, talking to people's never been an issue." And when asked if he was aware he's been branded 'arrogant' by some, he said: "I get that sometimes. One of my coaches at Rangers, Brian Gilmour, he used to always be on at me about perception, the way I walk, the way I talk, the way I conduct myself. That's always been something that I've put first, conducted myself properly and speak to people the way I would want them to speak to me.
