Alec Benjamin chose to cover Eminem's "Stan" for his Spotify Singles, an unexpected choice for the pop singer. However, in a recent episode of Spotify's Under Cover podcast, the crooner explained the decision and why Eminem means so much to him.
“I went back through all of Eminem’s old records, and when I found ‘Stan’ it gave me this visceral feeling in my gut,” He explained, noting that he's been a fervent Eminem fan since childhood. “[Eminem] was the first artist where I was like, ‘I This song is like a journey. It’s a really sad story. It’s a very sad, but incredibly well told, brilliant, genius story," he continued.
