Alan Carr opens up about divorce and says ex-husband's alcohol addiction was 'too much'
Alan Carr has said his husband's alcohol addiction was "too much" as he opened up about their divorce.
Speaking to The Guardian, Alan recalled a time when he was in Palm Springs and drunkenly attacked his ex and ransacked their hotel room but awoke with no memory of the incident. Alan said that he now knows he was not an alcoholic, as he insisted: "I know now that I'm not [an alcoholic] and seeing [alcoholism] first-hand, I realise I was nowhere near becoming one."
"They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways. We request that their privacy is respected at this sensitive time."
