The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged an off-duty San Francisco Fire Department firefighter Monday with attempted murder in connection with a weekend injury shooting.

around 6:30 p.m., Sunday near 30th and Chestnut streets in West Oakland before later learning that a 45-year-old man had been shot at 1:53 p.m., at a home in the 2500 block of 63rd Avenue.

Soon after that dispute, the victim followed Pointer to the 63rd Avenue home, where he “intentionally damaged” vehicles belonging to Pointer and Pointer’s sister, the declaration said. Officers who obtained a warrant to search Pointer’s home found paperwork connected to an Emeryville robbery that involved possession of stolen property, as well as a spent casing inside the home, which “would suggest Pointer moved the casing” in an attempt to conceal evidence, the declaration said.
