A northwest Alabama woman has died months after being attacked by a pack of dogs believed to be owned by a woman who has been charged in the dog-mauling death of another woman.

According to a lawsuit against Dowdy, Sheeks was “violently attacked and mauled” in Red Bay April 28 by a pack of dogs that Dowdy owned.

Beard, an environmental supervisor for the Alabama Department of Public Health, was following up on the attack of Sheeks. Dowdy has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Beard.Following a hearing Tuesday, Franklin County District Judge Paula McDowell ordered Dowdy’s bond to be revoked after she was arrested and charged Sunday with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest violated terms of Dowdy’s release on bond, Franklin County Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Barksdale said in a court filing.
