Akron’s Glendale Steps, located along Glendale Avenue in downtown Akron, are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to Progress Through Preservation of Greater Akron.
AKRON, Ohio – If you’ve driven along Glendale Avenue in West Akron, you might have noticed the old sandstone steps that seemingly lead to nowhere.National Register of Historic PlacesOriginally, the $22,000 project was designed to connect South Walnut Street to a city park along Glendale Avenue, but funds dried up and the park was never built, according to Local nonprofit Progress Through Preservation of Greater Akron.
