Lone Star Live is a dynamic new digital brand debuting in August.
Advance Local, the parent company of NJ Advance Media, will expand into a new market this summer with the launch of Lone Star Live, a dynamic new digital brand devoted to news, sports and culture in the state of Texas.
“Immigration and the situation at the southern border, voting rights, book-banning in schools, the post-Dobbs abortion debate: All of these are playing out in real time across Texas in ways that have national implications, especially as the 2024 presidential election season begins in earnest,” said Steven Ibanez, who will serve as Lone Star Live’s founding editor.
Ibanez is a Texas native who has spent more than two decades in leadership positions at Advance Local as well as management roles at Florida Today and The Shreveport Times. He will hire a launch team of 14 journalists with the goal of introducing Lone Star Live to Texans this August.“At Advance Local, we are always looking for ways to grow and diversify our business,” said Caroline Harrison, CEO of Advance Local.
