A spokesperson for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde confirmed a small number of patients in Ward 2 of Glasgow's Royal Infirmary are displaying symptoms of gastroenteritis, a bacterial or viral tummy bug that causes diarrhoea and vomiting.Admissions to the ward have been paused in line with infection control procedures until test results are available.
"We are awaiting results of testing, but in line with strict infection control procedures, admissions to the ward have been temporarily paused, until the results are available. "NHSGGC is fully committed to providing high-quality care for all of our patients in a safe, person-centred environment, staff have undertaken a deep clean and those impacted continue to be monitored and cared for."
