Aderrien Murry has been released from hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
Aderrien's mother said she told him to call police because she was concerned by the behaviour of the father of another of her children.An 11-year-old boy who was shot by an officer after calling police for help has been released from hospital, his family says.
As her son turned the corner of the hallway, the officer opened fire, striking Aderrien in the chest, she said. Aderrien was rushed to the University of Mississippi Medical Centre, where he was given a chest tube and placed on a ventilator.
