it’s title perhaps borrowed from the Roman poet, Virgil, who said “sic itur ad astra”, thus one journeys to the stars. We are world eaters; thus we journey to the stars. It’s a cynical viewpoint born from Earth’s colonization of the moon, complete with Subway restaurants, casinos, and photo booths — expensive “experiences” all in the service of distracting humanity from the mining of the moon’s resources which have erupted into new wars.

The phrase “work conquers all” is the central idea that has made Roy McBride the man he is, a man who sacrifices personal relationships, human connection, and community all for the sake of the mission.
