Former actor, Steven Blakeley, is playing his part in the local community
Going from being an actor to a funeral director and celebrant is probably not the most natural career progression, but it’s one taken by Steven Blakeley of A. Wass Funeral Directors.
At eighteen, Steven won a place at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and also studied at the Athanor Theater Akademie in Germany. Since graduating twenty years ago, he has worked extensively in theatre, television, film and radio, both in the UK and abroad. Having only ever intended to lead funeral services when asked to do so by people he knew, Steven has gone on to officiate for around 2,000 funerals since 2014, many of which for families who have used A. Wass as their chosen funeral directing firm.
