Vil was shot in the head outside her car and pronounced dead at the scene, according to court documents filed in support of the charges. Her child was inside the car at the time of the shooting, police said in the court documents. Leonard is the father of the child, police said. Leonard later drove Vil’s car to the hospital to meet up with her family members and police, authorities said. He appeared to be wearing different clothes than were seen on the video and wasn’t wearing shoes, authorities said.
