Accrington Stanley boss close to peace deal with council after noise complaint row
There are signs that peace is breaking out in the row over live music that triggered a football club’s owner to hand back his ‘Freedom of the Borough’ medal.
Mr Holt, director of What More UK, trading as Wham, since 1999 and director and the majority shareholder of Accrington Stanley since October 2015, was made a Freeman of Hyndburn Borough in May. His returning of the medallion followed six live music performances at Accrington Stanley’s Coley’s bar, in Livingstone Road, Accrington, being cancelled after the noise abatement order was served.
In the joint statement Mr Holt said: “Coley’s Bar has been a wonderful addition at the grounds and in efforts to expand our offering we have recently run a series of new events including live bands. This has caused some noise disturbance and we made the decision to cancel upcoming live music events until a solution could be found.
