Abby Lee Miller is suing the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton for $8.5 million in damages after one of the hotel’s doors allegedly fell on top of her, according to multiple reports.
She alleges the more than 300-pound door fell “directly” on her head and left shoulder, trapping her in her wheelchair for “approximately six to twelve minutes.” She also claims, however, that the hotel staff “ignored” her on other occasions and did not aid her “accessibility needs when she contacted the front desk for assistance.” She said she was unable to use the laundry room because it was not wheelchair accessible and her hallway path was always obstructed by housekeeping carts.
