Residents claim the Lancashire town is 'safe and sound' despite concerns surrounding antisocial behaviour
People who live in a Lancashire neighbourhood branded a 'no-go zone' have defended their community following calls to tackle antisocial behaviour.

As traffic flowed along the busy Colne Road, shops and businesses were open and groups of men made their way to Friday prayers at the Queensgate Islamic Centre.
Waqas Ali has a shop in the area. He said: "I have been here for seven years. It is a respectful area. I know a lot of people here - it's perfectly nice, perfectly safe." The neighbourhood will see increased police and local authority activity with the aim of creating a safer, more welcoming environment including a clean up drive from the council’s waste contractor Urbaser. Mrs Braddock’s concerns have been reported to the Burnley Neighbourhood Policing team.
Chief Supt Winstanley, said: “We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for everyone in Queensgate and ensuring that those who live in the area feel safe and welcome. We take reports of issues seriously and would ask that our communities continue to tell us their concerns.
