There’s even a French phrase used to describe her twisted sense of style: jolie laide, or pretty ugly. Her fall show for Prada was a perfect example of this. Inspired by the Bride of Frankenstein, the collection included plenty of delicate flowers — but they were all wilted and dying. The final look combined a very feminine light-blue evening dress with dark-black lace and combat boots.
Accessories from Miu Miu’s spring 2019 show, pictured above, embody a similar sense of girly toughness. This studded black bucket bag may seem like an expensive weapon at first, but its curvy cutouts give the effect of petals, like one big leather tulip. It’s the perfect bag for any summer goth out there, looking to hold their keys, and their emotions.
