Longtime Oakland Athletics broadcaster Glen Kuiper apologized on air Friday night after he appeared to say a racial slur in a slip-up.
Longtime Oakland Athletics broadcaster Glen Kuiper offered up an on-air apology Friday night after he appeared to say a racial slur in an apparent slip of the tongue earlier in the NBC Sports California broadcast.
"A little bit earlier in the show, I said something, didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to and I just wanted to apologize if it sounded different than I meant it to be said. I just wanted to apologize for that," Kuiper said in the top of the sixth inning of the A's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Kuiper's apology appeared to be in reference to remarks he made pregame while discussing what he and broadcast partner Dallas Braden did earlier Friday. Broadcaster Glen Kuiper opened the top of the sixth with an apology for something that he said earlier in the broadcast. No idea what that might have been.
