A Quiet Place 2 drops a big surprise in Super Bowl 2020 trailer
as mother-father team Evelyn and Lee Abbott, who fought to protect their children and their home from the mutant monsters that now dominate the earth and hunt with their enhanced hearing — hence everyone’s need to be quiet. Lee sacrificed his own life at the end of the movie to save his family, including the newborn babe Evelyn birthed in one particularly panic-inducing scene.
Paramount also released a behind-the-scenes featurette that explores more of the story at hand. Krasinski, who wrote the script for the sequel, is back behind the camera as director. With the Abbott house destroyed, he says they now have to “go out into the world and see how other people live, so they literally leave the path of safety and go into the unknown.
