Another relationship bites the dust: Amazon and FedEx are no more
. FedEx announced this week that it is ending its partnership with Amazon at the end of the month, causing both companies to look for someone new.Amazon and FedEx have long relied on each other, but Amazon’s recent investments in its own delivery service has frustrated FedEx and led to the companies’ breakup. After ending its contract on air deliveries in June, FedEx won’t renew its contract for ground deliveries that expires at the end of August.
FedEx’s decision to drop Amazon couldn’t have come at a worse time for the e-commerce giant. To start, the holiday shopping season is just around the corner. Nearly half of all online shoppers expect to buy all or most of their gifts from Amazon this year, and many of them will start shopping in the coming months.
