Despite increasing conversation and nationwide campaigns aimed at raising awareness about working women artists, things are still lacking:

aimed at raising awareness about working women artists, things aren’t really looking up for female artists when it comes to actual representation in galleries and money made by artists.

Wilson is also very aware of the fact that the curator club she belongs to is still very much a male field—a white, male field—and that so long as brick and mortar galleries and museums continue to hold high esteem in the art market, the art hung in those institutions isn’t likely to change unless those selecting the art start to.
