A new 'Meteor Cruise' is coming to Scotland aff
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines have announced a new programme of cruising for the 2024/25 season, including a meteor shower cruise departing from Scotland.
The cruise is "timed purposefully to give guests the best chance of witnessing the Perseid Meteor Shower in the remote waters of the Azores where there is minimal light pollution". According to NASA, the Perseid Meteor Shower is considered the best meteor shower of the year — known for their fireballs and long streaks of light and colour.
Head of Itinerary Planning and Destination Experience at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Martin Lister said: "This has been a particularly exciting programme to curate, and we have taken inspiration from both natural and organised events in the destinations to create some really imaginative and unusual itineraries.
