A three-day “A Christmas Story” event is bringing back cast members to Cleveland for a special celebration of the movie’s 40th anniversary.
The 1983 film, made partially in Cleveland, follows Ralphie, a young boy coming of age over the holiday season around 1940. While he navigates being a kid at Christmas – dealing with school, home life, exploits with friends, wrangling with bullies and a vivid imagination – he keeps his sights set on a special BB gun he hopes Santa will bring him. Bob Clark directed the film, based on the writing of Jean Shepherd.
• Fans will have a chance to attend a moderated panel event with the cast and learn about the making of the film, behind-the-scenes anecdotes and memorable moments.A cast expo in Public Auditorium is set for 1:30 to 6 p.m. A behind-the-camera panel will be in Music Hall at 7 p.m.. All proceeds benefit the film commission, which aims to attract jobs and economic development to the region via film and television productions.here’s a directory on cleveland.
