Laura Ann Carleton, 66, the owner of Mag Pi clothing store in Cedar Glen, died in the shooting in Cedar Glen, California.
The sheriff’s office says the suspect, whose identity has not been released, made “several disparaging remarks” about a rainbow flag that was on display outside the store before shooting Carleton. Emergency workers pronounced Carleton dead at the scene.
The suspect, armed with a handgun, fled from the area on foot but was later tracked down by deputies, the sheriff’s office say. He was shot and killed by deputies.on social media calling the shooting of Carleton “absolutely horrific.”San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor Dawn Roe released a statement calling Carleton’s death an “incredible loss,”“Everyone deserves to live free of hate and discrimination and practice their constitutional right of freedom of speech,” Roe said.
