The concoction includes the restaurant’s signature Bloody Mary, served in a 16-ounce glass. Perched on top of the glass are a shimmery turkey leg, a crispy fried corndog, grilled corn on the cob, an apple coated with caramel and nuts and a powdered sugar-dusted funnel cake.
Perfecting the cocktail was a laborious process, the couple said. First, they had to make a corndog that could compare to the formidable“We just winged it,” Merrell Nwaeze said. “It was definitely a challenge, but I think we got pretty close.”Once they perfected recipes, staff turned to arranging all of the garnishes around a single glass. They tried to fit two more State Fair favorites — a fried Oreo and a fried pickle — without luck.An Oreo and pickle could grace a future Bloody Mary, though.
This is not the first time Chef Point has made headlines. The restaurant opened 20 years ago inside a Watauga gas station, northeast of Fort Worth, where it served upscale foods like duck à l’orange, chicken and waffles and blackened salmon.
