Two other tornadoes were confirmed in northern sections of Ohio.
The tornado knocked down trees, uprooted a tree onto a home on Springfield Road, and damaged two industrial buildings, caving in a brick wall and damaging metal support beams. An uprooted tree damaged a home near Miles Road.
An EF-1 tornado in Mentor touched down just after midnight west of Dartmoor Road near Mentor Avenue. It stayed on the ground more more than three miles and had top winds of 110 mph, the Weather Service says. In Claridon Township in Geauga County, just southeast of Chardon, an EF-1 tornado with winds around 110 mph touched down near the intersection of Aquilla Road and Tewksbury Lane, the Weather Service says. The tornado damaged and uprooted trees and and knocked down power lines as it stayed on the ground for just over a mile. It lifted on the east side of Taylor Wells Road.
Farther west, an EF-1 tornado touched down in Elmore in Ottawa County, while an EF-1 was confirmed in Vermilion Township in Erie County.
