Ohio police: 6-year-old girl, father dead in suspected murder-suicide
Police said they initially responded to an 11:40 a.m. call about a dispute involving a custody exchange at the Lake of the Woods apartment complex off Hamilton Avenue.
As officers entered the apartment, a gunshot was heard from the second-floor bedroom area, the chief said in the news release. “Officers immediately responded to and attempted to gain entry into the bedroom but were unable to due to the door being barricaded within,” the release states. “As officers attempted to force entry additional shots rang out. The officers called for a Hamilton County Special Weapons and Tactics response while securing the perimeter of the residence.”
When the SWAT team arrived, they tried to communicate with the barricaded person, the police news release states. “After repeated attempts to do so failed” SWAT entered and found the bodies.No Mt. Healthy officers were injured.
