Brightline is helping children and their families demystify the mental- and behavioral-healthcare system.Naomi Allen, Brightline's cofounder and CEO, founded the Palo Alto, California, startup to simplify children's and teenagers' mental- and behavioral-health treatment after she experienced the confusing behavioral-health system with her own child.
The pandemic also saw Brightline collaborate with healthcare-navigation company Castlight Health, health insurer Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, family-benefits startup Cleo, Boston Children's Hospital, and others to launch the freeto help parents understand how the pandemic is affecting their children's mental health.
"Throughout the pandemic we saw the need for mental and behavioral health support among kids and teens skyrocket. Our goal at Brightline is to make high-quality, ubiquitous care for families accessible and affordable," Allen said in an AprilBrightline raised $20 million in August 2020 and $71 million in June 2021, bringing its total funding to $97 million.
