Max Johnston is just the latest player to complete the journey from lowerl leagues to national team after he was called up to the Scotland squad for the first time.

Born in Middlesbrough, his dad Allan moved back home upon a move to Kilmarnock in 2004, having played for Scotland 18 times at the turn of the century.
